Today, April 29, 2026, marks a high-anxiety transition point. The application phase is in the rearview mirror, and selected candidates are now moving into the critical “Confirmation and Fee Payment” stage. If you don’t act fast, your hard-earned seat could go to someone on the waiting list.
Here is everything you need to do right now to secure your spot at one of India’s premier technical institutes.
1. How to Check Your Selection Status
Unlike some universities that publish a single massive PDF, IIT Indore often handles selections at the Departmental and Faculty level.
-
Check Your Dashboard: Log in to the official Google Form or Portal you used for the application.
-
Monitor Your Email: Search for emails from
@iiti.ac.in. Check your Spam and Promotions folders—selection links often land there because they are sent to multiple recipients. -
The Rolling List: If you haven’t heard back, don’t panic yet. IIT Indore uses a “Rolling Selection” process. If a shortlisted candidate fails to pay the fee by the deadline, the next student in line gets an invite.
2. The “Paid” Internship Model: Understanding the Fees
It is important to remember that the IIT Indore Summer Internship is a self-funded training program. While you gain world-class experience, you are required to pay a nominal fee to cover administrative and infrastructure costs.
| Category | Fee Amount (Per Month) |
| Undergraduate (UG) Students | ₹3,000 |
| Postgraduate (PG) Students | ₹5,000 |
Deadline Alert: You usually have 3 to 5 days from the receipt of your selection email to complete the payment. Failure to pay within this window will result in the automatic cancellation of your internship offer.
3. Hostel Rules & Campus Life
Living on the IIT Indore campus is an experience in itself, but it comes with strict 2026 protocols:
-
Accommodation is NOT Guaranteed: On-campus housing is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
The Recommendation Letter: To book a hostel room, you must have a formal recommendation from your Faculty Mentor.
-
Additional Charges: Hostel fees are separate from the internship fee. Expect to pay for your room and mess (food) on a per-day or per-month basis once you arrive.
-
Strict Codes: You are expected to follow all institute disciplinary rules. Any violation can lead to immediate termination of the internship without a refund.
4. 3 Critical Steps for Selected Interns
If you’ve received that “Congratulations” email, your work has just started. Do these three things today:
-
Confirm with your Mentor: Reply to your faculty mentor immediately. Clarify the Project Scope and your Date of Joining (The window is typically May 16 – July 19, 2026).
-
Verify Your Documents: Ensure you have your Bonafide Certificate from your home college and your 10+2 marksheets (showing at least 60%) ready for physical verification.
-
Plan Your Travel: Indore is well-connected, but since this is peak summer travel season, book your trains or flights as soon as your hostel is confirmed.
