The Breakdown: Seats & Locations
DIPAS isn’t just a single lab. For the 2026 session, the 08 available seats are split between the main campus in Delhi and the DIBER facility in Haldwani.

Eligibility: Are You Actually Eligible?
Before you spend money on Speed Post, double-check these three mandatory rules:

The Academic Bar: You must be entering your final year (B.Tech/M.Tech) for the 2026-27 session.

The “Clean Record” Rule: DRDO has a zero-tolerance policy for backlogs. If you have any active backlogs, do not apply.

Commitment: You need to complete the full 180-day tenure and maintain at least 15 days of physical attendance every month.
About the Stipend: You won’t get a monthly salary. Instead, you’ll receive ₹15,000 after the first 3 months and the final ₹15,000 after the 6th month.
How to Apply (The Offline Checklist)
The biggest hurdle is the paperwork. Your application must reach the Delhi office by May 15, 2026.

The Sponsorship Letter: This is the most important document. It must be on your college’s official letterhead and signed by the Principal or Director. A plain printout of the annexure will not be accepted.

The Form: Download the proforma from the DRDO website and fill it in neat CAPITAL LETTERS.

Documents to Attach: Self-attested copies of your Aadhaar Card, College ID, and all marksheets up to the 3rd year (1st Semester).

The Selection Logic: How They Pick Interns
There is no written test. Selection is purely merit-based (your CGPA/Percentage). If there is a tie between two candidates, the elder student (by Date of Birth) gets the preference.
Pro-Tip: If you’re selected, you will be notified via email. At that stage, you’ll need to produce a Police Verification Certificate and a formal NOC from your college.
Common Questions (FAQ)
Does DRDO provide a room or hostel?
No. You are entirely on your own for accommodation and food. If you are posted in Delhi (Timarpur area), start looking for PGs early as it’s a student hub and can get expensive.
Can I leave the internship early?
You can, but you will not receive the completion certificate or the remaining stipend. The certificate is only issued after completing the full 6-month term.
What is the start date?
Tentatively, the batch will start joining from July 01, 2026.
