I recently looked into how to apply for it — here’s exactly what I found, who can apply, how to get selected, and why it’s so worth it if you want a career in R&D, defence, or core engineering.
About DRDO DEBEL Internship
DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) is India’s premier defence R&D body under the Ministry of Defence. It runs dozens of labs, each specialising in different technologies — and DEBEL is one of the most interesting.
DEBEL (Defence Bioengineering & Electromedical Laboratory) is based in Bengaluru and mainly works on bioengineering and biomedical devices for the Indian Armed Forces — think life-support systems, protective equipment, and medical technologies for defence applications.
Every year, DEBEL and other DRDO labs offer a limited number of summer internships, usually called industrial training, for engineering, M.Sc, or PhD students who want real lab experience.

Attach your updated resume, recent marksheets, and a bonafide/NOC from your college.

There’s no online test — it’s purely on your academic performance, your field of interest, and seat availability.
