As of February 27, the portal has confirmed the next major window for B.Ed 1st Year and D.El.Ed 1st Year students. Here is how to make sure you get a school near your home.

The 2026 “Important” Dates

The portal re-opens for Phase 2 choice filling this Sunday. Do not wait until the last day; the server usually crashes under the load of 50,000+ students.

  • Choice Filling Period: March 01, 2026, to March 10, 2026.

  • Who is this for?

    • B.Ed 1st Year & D.El.Ed (BSTC) 1st Year

    • B.A.B.Ed/B.Sc.B.Ed 3rd Year

    • Anyone who was missed in the January “Final Chance” round.

  • School Allotment Date: Expected between March 15–20, 2026.

How to Fill Your 15 School Choices

You are required to list a minimum of 15 schools. If you pick only 2 or 3, the system might throw you into a remote village in another block.

  1. Check the Vacancy First: Don’t guess. Go to the Shala Darpan Vacancy List and filter by your District, Block, and Course.

  2. The “Priority” Strategy: Put your absolute favorite school at #1. The algorithm works on a first-come, first-served basis combined with merit/category.

  3. Candidate Login: Use your mobile number to retrieve your Username/Password if you’ve lost it. If your name doesn’t show up, call your college clerk today—they haven’t uploaded your data yet.

Mandatory Joining Kit (March 2026)

Once you get your allotment (mid-March), you have 7 to 10 working days to report to the school. Take these with you:

  • [ ] Portal Allotment Letter: Download the PDF from the “Allotment Status” tab.

  • [ ] College Relieving Letter: Your college must issue this physically.

  • [ ] Identity Proof: Original Aadhaar Card and 2 Passport Photos.

  • [ ] Internship Diary: Most colleges require you to start your daily logs from Day 1.

FAQ: What Students are Asking in 2026

Q: Can I change my school after allotment? A: No. The allotment is final and binding. The only way to change it is through a formal appeal to the District Education Officer (DEO) for extreme medical reasons, and even then, it’s rare.

Q: Is this internship paid? A: No. This is a mandatory part of your NCTE curriculum. You are there to learn, not to earn.

Q: What if the allotted school is closed? A: Sometimes schools merge or close. If this happens, contact the PEEO (Panchayat Elementary Education Officer) of that area immediately; they will re-assign you to a nearby school.
